If you buy your pond pump from us, you will get a 20% discount on any Koi fish you order. You should consider the operating costs when deciding which pump you want for your pond.Comparing the up front costs of purchasing a Little Giant pump versus an Oase pump shows that just because the Little Giant pump is about $475 cheaper than the Oase pump, does not mean it's the most economical choice. See the following table: This table is based on a $.13 cost per kilowatt-hour, and assumes since the Little Giant pump is only warranted for 1 year versus 3 years for the Oase pump, that you will have to buy 3 times as many Little Giant pumps as Oase pumps. Admittedly, this is subjective so you can assume anything you believe is reasonable, and make your own calculations. Note that even if the Little Giant pump lasted for the entire 3 year period you still save over $1,000 with the Oase pump.
Detailed calculations:
The Oase and Little Giant are both submergible pumps. They pump large amounts of water, but do not supply much pump head: 22, and 16 feet. In other words, they won't pump water very high, or against much friction loss. If you want to get pump head of 50 to 75 feet, you will need an external pump, and you have to pay more for the higher pressure. Here is a graph of yearly operating costs versus horsepower (HP) for Sequence Pumps (it shows an operating cost of $2,000 per year for a 2 HP pump):
