There are 2 types of main bottom drains. One is for concrete ponds (left), the other for liner type ponds (right). Your price is $39.00 for either. Each version comes with anti-vortex plate (below) and standard cover plates (above), both plates come in the package. Some come with a 3" port, most with 2-2" ports. It turns out that the 2-2" ports have an area of 6.3 square inches, while the 3" port has an area of 7.0 square inches. Although the single 3" port offers a little more square area, the redundancy and price give the edge to the 2-2" ports. The redundancy is especially useful if tree roots grow into one of the lines, or if pebbles block it. Each line should be valved independently. Remember for the bottom port to use 45 degree angle elbows or a long sweep elbow. |
